CURLING: Community hits the ice in Shawville
The Shawville Community Bonspiel came to an end on Sunday evening, and after a couple of weeks of tossing rocks and community spirit out on the ice, a young team came out on top. The 43rd annual Shawville Community Bonspiel brought out over 50 teams between Jan. 25 and Feb. 4. This year’s event was in honour of the club’s long-serving ice technician, Rick Allen, who passed away Jan. 18.
