MUNICIPALITY OF PONTIAC Nov. 13, 2018
The Municipality of Pontiac has introduced a policy designed to lay out the rules regarding cannabis use for employees.
The municipality is implementing a zero tolerance approach for those who consume cannabis while on the job.
The policy states that it is forbidden for employees to consume drugs or alcohol during work hours.
The policy also forbids employees from possessing or selling drugs while at work.
For those who consume cannabis for medical purposes, they will have to inform the municipality immediately. The employee may be asked to provide prescription information, medical notes or any other supporting documents.
