Foresters object to government clearcut: Some local wood producers accuse the province of practicing wasteful management of Pontiac’s forests.
Last fall, about three kilometres west of Cawood, over 40 acres of trees, potentially good pulp or saw logs, were slashed to make way for reforestation.
Two sites on the Cawood Road were slashed last year in preparation for planting of birch, oak and pine.
