A 28-year year-old man from Saint-Ferdinand, QC and a 33 year-old man from Victoriaville, QC were arrested by Surete du Quebec (SQ) in Mansfield on Sunday.
The SQ says the men were intercepted in a vehicle during a routine check in the Mansfield town hall parking lot. Officers observed open beer cans in the vehicle and, upon further inspection, found two motocross bikes in the trailer, as well as narcotics. A check showed that the motocross bikes had been reported stolen.
The SQ says the men were arrested and that their trailer was taken to the police station, where a search was carried out after judicial authorization had been granted.
The men could face charges of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics for the purposes of trafficking, possession of restricted weapons, receiving stolen property, and possession of a prohibited device.
They will receive an additional $300 fine for consuming an alcoholic beverage inside their vehicle.
The two men appeared in court by video conference on Sunday, and were scheduled to be seen in the Gatineau courthouse on Monday.
