Social Notes

Quyon: Jill Young

How is everyone doing this week? I hope you are all finding ways to keep busy during this Covid-19 pandemic. I admit to finding it difficult to focus for very long, even with hobbies I enjoy like crocheting or reading, so I haven’t felt very productive thus far.
Our treat this week was our first snack from Casse-Croute du Village for the season. I was so impressed with how everyone was keeping their distance while waiting for their orders. It is so important that we all continue to follow the rules and guidelines to keep us safe. Stay home if you can, only go out for essentials and hopefully we will see better days again soon.
My deepest sympathies to my Lang family relatives, as my great-aunt Margaret Lang passed away on April 2, just a few weeks shy of her 97 birthday. Aunt Margaret was such a lovely woman and I always enjoyed chatting with her. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her loved ones at this sad time.
I’d like to send out belated birthday wishes to Graham Dowe on April 3rd. I always somehow forget Graham in my notes and I am sorry for that.
Happy birthday to Emma Hobbs as she celebrates on April 8, and to Vera Meredith on the 11.
We are sending big birthday wishes to my mom, Elizabeth Young, on April 13, and we look forward to celebrating once this is all over.
Happy birthday also to Jackie McBane on the 14. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
With Good Friday and Easter approaching this weekend, I know many of us will be marking the occasion in a very different way this year. It will be difficult to be separated from our extended families and loved ones at a time when we would usually be gathering but I hope we are all able to celebrate in new ways and still honour the occasion with joy. We are grateful that we have ways to join in worship thanks to technology, and we will try to still make it very blessed day.
Happy Easter to all.
