Summer sure did go out with a bang this past weekend, as many in our area were hit with tornadoes, microbursts, wild winds and storms on Friday evening. It was unbelievable to see the footage of the damage done in the Ottawa-Gatineau area and throughout the valley. We were very lucky to have not been in the path of the tornado and we didn’t lose power for any length of time. Others in our area were not so fortunate and our thoughts and prayers are with those who are dealing with the aftermath of the storms. Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Lorne McRae who passed away on Sept. 16. It was a weekend of celebrating for Blake Howarth and Meghan Foran, as their big day is quickly approaching. On Friday, a bridal shower was held in Meghan’s honour and then on Saturday, a stag and doe was held at Gavan’s Hotel for the happy couple. There was a great crowd of family and friends out. The wedding party had set up wonderful decorations, games and lots of fun for all. Congratulations to Meghan and Blake.
