Santa rides into Quyon

The Quyon Lions and Lionettes put on the annual Santa Parade on Saturday, starting just after noon and running from St. Mary’s Parish through to Onslow Elementary School. Pictured, the local firefighters led the parade with lights flashing and sirens wailing.
The float by Jacques Prudhomme’s Music brought the living room outside, as a family waves and an inflatable chimney shows Santa sliding down it.

Kris Kringle rolled through Quyon at noon on Saturday, escorted by his parade of firefighters and local organizations, as families waited eagerly at the roadside to catch a glimpse of the big man in red.
Running from St. Mary’s Parish up to rue de Clarendon and across to Onslow Elementary School, the parade drew quite the crowd as it rolled through town and attracted one float too big to make the pivot in the route.
While the firefighters led the pack, with wailing sirens and lights flashing as candy was handed out, floats of various designs followed after. Many were adorned with Christmas trees and featured kids and adults, smiling as they waved and tossed candy to their community.
