A snowshoe race was held at Brauwerk Hoffman Brewery to raise funds for Les Ami(e)s du Manoir St-Joseph, an assisted living Facility in Campbell’s Bay last Sunday night. The event was organized by Paul Shea and Dani Boivin. While originally scheduled to be held on Saturday night, the severe weather caused the organizers to push it to Sunday night.
The race had 12 people participate and cost $50.
The course was broken down into tracks, one 5 km and the other 10 km. The course followed a trail around the brewery and surrounding properties.
Prior to the race, a community snowshoe walk was also hosted at the brewery which saw about 25 people show up, according to Boivin.
This is the second time the snowshoe race was held, with the event being put on a two year hiatus due to covid.
