I sure hope that everyone enjoyed the first long weekend of the summer.
The mosquitoes have awoken from their winter slumber and are back with a vengeance. Hopefully, they won’t last too long.
Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with Peter Gauthier in the recent passing of his dear brother Marc Gauthier of Gatineau.
Happy birthday is wished to Ron Bartman, who celebrated his 80th birthday on May 17. May you be blessed in the coming year with health, happiness and love surrounded by your family.
On Saturday evening we attended a Stag & Doe in honour of Mark’s niece Sarah Mulvihill and Evan Pelechaty. It took place at the Chapeau Community Hall. Everyone extended their love and best wishes to Sarah and Evan. A lovely lunch was served. Sarah and Evan will be married on Oct. 5.
Birthday wishes and love is wished to my dear friend Lyne Bechamp, who is celebrating her birthday today May 22. May you share many more years of health, happiness and love surrounded by your family.

Shawville - Lyse Lacourse

Victoria Day weekend was beautiful in terms of weather. We celebrated this holiday this past Monday. It is a federal holiday to honour Queen Victoria and is considered the start of the Canadian summer season. Welcome Summer.
Our deepest condolences to the Steadman family on the loss of Diane on May 14, at the age of 79. She was the mother of the late Cindy (Leo), Tony, Andy and Christie (Dwight).
The Municipality of Shawville has announced that the Splash Pad, at Mill Dam Park, is open.
Save the Date for the Lions Steak and Lobster Dinner on Saturday, June 15.
