The Otter Lake RA held a dart tournament and Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday morning.
“We got some diehard fishermen there’s about maybe 40 to 50 people out there fishing right now,” said Shane Presley, president of the Otter Lake RA.
The derby took place in the very cold temperatures of Saturday morning. The competition cost $10 to register for with the funds going to fund the town’s splash pad project.
The winner of the derby was Philippe Chasse with a 16 inch bass and Megan Lafontaine coming in second with two fish measuring 15.25 and 14.5 inches.
There were also 36 players in the dart tournament, according to Presley.
Pitou Lafleur, Nancie Richer and Dan Gravell came in first place; Bryan Turpin, Madeline Soucie and Michel St-Pierre came in second place; and Stacy Lafleur, Fern Gravelle and Nicole Lafleur came in third. Stacy Lafleur won the woman’s highscore with a score of 140 and Michel St-Pierre won the men’s highscore with 180.
The RA also organized a breakfast before the festivities and gave away various prizes and cash to the winners of the day.
