Annual Jim’s Lake Carnival a huge success

Snowmobile races were held at the Jim’s Lake Carnival on Jan. 19 with almost 60 registered riders and over 170 races.

The famous Jim’s Lake Carnival was held the weekend of Jan. 19 to 21. The carnival kicked off on Friday with the crowning of the queen and the duchesses. The contest was based on the amount of likes each contestant got on their personal Facebook page. Pascale Thompson was crowned queen followed by Claire Soucie, Cloé Lavigne and Maxime Caron as her duchesses.
On Saturday, the annual, much awaited, snowmobile races were held and with almost 60 registered riders and over 170 races, the day was a huge success.

Among the big winners were Krystle Vermilyea, Don Deugo, Jason Paquette, Nick Morin, Eric Gauthier, Sean Kilpatrick and Ian Dagenais. The evening was filled with spaghetti, music and dancing.
The weekend ended on Sunday with a good Hangover Breakfast. Dominique Thompson and Martin Hérault, organizers of the event and owners of Jim’s Lake Outfitter, appreciated everyone coming out to support and make the carnival a success.
“It’s nice to see that regardless of the obvious lack of snow on our trails, we can still get together and enjoy winter activities,” said Thompson and Hérault.
After seeing the interest in this type of activity, Jim’s Lake Outfitter have announced that there will be more snowmobile races coming on March 3 directly on the ice this time.
