The Pontiac Senior Comets returned to home ice on Saturday, rounding out minor hockey day at the Fort Coulonge arena with a hard-fought game.
Though action was back and forth with the Mont Laurier Montagnards for most of the game, the third period saw the home team fall apart as their opponents outpaced them.
First period proved an early wake-up call for the Comets, when Montagnard Michael Mantha scored in the first three minutes of the game. Pushed into a corner, the Comets’ defences improved and neither team scored the rest of the period.
